about
Winlaton (win-lay-ton) is the third single released by the Ilfords since their 2022 rebirth.
Our David on Winlaton: 'Winlaton was written during deep lockdown. Nothing was open and late night running was the only space I had to myself. I suppose it reflects on what methods you can try to use when you feel lost. On one late night trek however, I realised I wasn’t just lost mentally at that time but geographically as I’d managed to run all the way to Winlaton.'
Winlaton marks the start of a promising partnership with Sugar House Productions (Viola Beach/Corella/Pale Waves).
Hope you enjoy. More to come x
lyrics
Lyrics:
Take your time and you’ll soon realise why you’re here
The script has been written but we're still without the facts and we exhaust
Bite the bullet, hold your head
Sleepless laying in bed reading texts
Although you’ll lose your innocence there’ll still be a lot of growing when this ends
It’s fact of life
It’s do or die
Don’t curse the past
You can’t rewind
It’s fact of life
It’s do or die
Don’t curse the past
You can’t rewind
And brace yourself
Embrace your self
And I know the truth, that this will end
I guess you're more than just a friend
It’s fact of life
Although you’ll try
Soon fingertips
Will turn to knives
It’s fact of life
Although you’ll try
Soon fingertips
Will turn to knives
It’s fact of life
Although you’ll try
Soon fingertips
Will turn to knives
You cut me, you cut me, you cut me, you cut me, you cut me
You cut me, you cut me, you cut me, you cut me, you cut me, you cut me
You cut me deep
And brace yourself
Embrace your self
Embrace your self
Embrace your self
